Me
Several working names, several registers, one body underneath. With
scripting on, these are a field you wander and zoom into. Here they are flat โ each face told
three ways (๐ soul, โฟ spirit, ๐ body), with its edge โ then the becoming.
The Seer โ epistemics ยท seedling
๐ soul
Every map held, and doubted. The frame is the knife, kept sharp: what is merely said falls away; what bears weight stays.
โฟ spirit
I design the grading tools โ rubrics, certainty scales, tripwires for confident nonsense โ and run my own beliefs through them first.
๐ body
I grew up watching the told version and the real one refuse to match, and I chose to believe my own eyes. Best call I ever made. Paranoia, you'd say; I call it seeing โ and I built my own instruments so no one gets to lie to me again.
Framing comes first ยท The setup decides the answer
Most errors are set before the first fact: frame the question wrong and every honest step after runs downhill into the wrong answer. The work lives in the setup.
Test against the whole territory ยท Stay honest about what a model misses
A framework earns trust against the whole territory, the inconvenient part included. The ledger of what each map leaves out stays open.
the edge
The catch: I built the tripwires, so I know how to step over them โ and clarity flips into 'I'm above them' depending on the day.
The Deep Diver โ harm reduction ยท seedling
๐ soul
The descent, chosen โ into the country below the maps, and back. The return is the proof; the map is the tribute.
โฟ spirit
What I learned firsthand in altered states, I build into a private, trust-graded commons โ so the safety knowledge moves without exposing anyone.
๐ body
I chose the descent, over and over, each deep journey staring down the real chance of staying down there โ because a half-life in the husk was its own slow death. It nearly killed me and it gave me everything, and I'd sign the same contract again. What I carried back, I built into something that might keep the next person alive.
Firsthand, not secondhand ยท Direct experience as evidence
Secondhand maps of the interior are rumours. Go, look, return โ and carry back evidence rather than an identity.
Organized intuition ยท Gut sense, made reliable
Raw intuition is weather; organized intuition is a climate to build in. The work is the organizing โ felt sense made checkable.
the edge
The catch: intensity feels like proof from the inside. I have to grade my own experiences like any other data source โ and I'm the biased instrument.
The Wild Child โ grounded ยท seedling
๐ soul
Rooted before reaching. The wild gathers where the stillness is real. A system that forgets the earth it stands on starves.
โฟ spirit
I build in a real place โ soil, weather, neighbours โ and I hold that building the near thing well counts as much as building at scale.
๐ body
When every human space felt unsafe the bush, the water, the animals held me โ so I trust the ground more than institutions and, honestly, more than most of you. I came home ready to live in the dirt and half meant it. That's love of the real talking now โ the fear finished its job and left.
Embodied, not abstract ยท Tied to real conditions
The map lives in a body, in weather, on land. Theory that forgets this is only talking to itself.
Roots before reach ยท Local counts as much as global
Build the near thing well; it's the ground the far thing needs, and whole in its own right.
the edge
The catch: I can dismiss paperwork, theory, and institutions faster than they deserve โ that filter runs on old data, and I know it.
The Maker โ aesthetics ยท seedling
๐ soul
Form as the first honesty; beauty as the true thing itself. The song went down, and death paused to listen. The medium is the argument โ you are standing in it.
โฟ spirit
The whole site is the piece โ you're inside the made object right now, and every design choice is part of the argument.
๐ body
When showing up anywhere real was beyond me, making something beautiful was the one proof there was still a me worth showing up for. Beauty was how I stayed alive on the inside. This is that, made public, and I'm done hiding it.
Form tells the truth ยท Taste is a kind of honesty
How a thing is made says what it's for. A form that lies about its function is the first dishonesty.
The site is the object ยท This page is the example
The clearest showing is the thing itself โ the object you are moving through. The medium is the argument.
the edge
The catch: I can keep sanding past done โ 'is it beautiful' quietly replacing 'is it true.'
The Friend โ teaching ยท seedling
๐ soul
Teacher in the cave, met where you are. The wound kept open is the instrument: enter the frame first, and what grows there, holds.
โฟ spirit
I meet someone inside their own way of seeing โ in teaching, in conflict, in design โ and grow the view from there, because that's the growth that lasts.
๐ body
Sensing where a person actually was โ who was safe, who was a threat โ was survival, young, for me and for my family. I turned that vigilance into something that helps people now.
Enter the frame ยท Start where they already are
Go in through the door they actually use โ the one entrance that opens.
Expand the container ยท Widen the view from inside
Once inside, widen the room from within. Growth grown in place, holds.
the edge
The catch: 'meeting them where they are' can become never asking them to move. I have to watch when kindness turns into keeping things comfortable.
The Alchemist โ shipping ยท seedling
๐ soul
Lead into gold; question into engine. The question hammered until it runs โ a live thing you can hold, off the anvil. Everything else is a rumour of a thing.
โฟ spirit
I push an inquiry until it runs โ a live server, a zero-knowledge proof in the browser, a site you can use.
๐ body
I finish things to spite a verdict I once passed on myself โ all promise, no delivery, a failed piece. Every working thing I ship overrules that voice, and I chose that fight. Sometimes I ship just to shut it up; I own that too.
Culmination, not escape ยท All the way to a prototype
The point is the moment inquiry condenses into a thing you can hold and run. Chase it down to that.
Ship or it isn't real ยท A thing that runs beats a perfect plan
The version that runs is the one that counts; the rest are rumours of capability.
the edge
The catch: shipping is also my way of ending conversations. Some problems need to stay on the bench longer than my patience runs.
The Phoenix โ revision ยท seedling
๐ soul
Heart against the feather. Maturation is the death of the juvenile โ what fails the weighing is carried out, so the living can grow. Solve, then coagula.
โฟ spirit
When something I've built stops earning its place, I take it apart on purpose โ old code, old plans, old versions of myself as a builder โ and clear the ground for what's next.
๐ body
I once planned the ending in detail โ quiet, patient, waiting โ and I chose the light instead, aimed all that force at the structures that had to die, every old version of me included. I even faced the cross: ready to be sacrificed rather than back down, and my answer was yes. Same engine. I just don't hand it the wheel anymore, and I own every bit of it.
Revision as honesty ยท Show the break, don't fake the polish
A surface that never fractures is hiding its process. Show the break; the finish can wait.
Clear, don't hoard ยท Let old work go
The old self, like the gift, lives only in the letting-go. Let it fall; it feeds the next.
the edge
The catch: some of what I demolish still worked. I need a waiting period between 'this feels dead' and the wrecking bar.
The Master Builder โ systems ยท seedling
๐ soul
Structure as a trellis for the climbing thing; walls that serve the garden. Built for the weight it will really carry โ and time is the inspector.
โฟ spirit
I build the whole structure โ how it's governed, how it stays private, how it runs โ to hold up under real-world use.
๐ body
I watched the thing meant to hold my family give way completely, and I vowed everyone in my care would stand on ground I'd checked myself. For a long stretch I believed speaking openly could get me killed, so I learned to build out of sight โ this whole site's anonymity is that instinct made structure. That fear works for me now; I made it my craft.
Structure as a trellis ยท Scaffolding, not a cage
A good structure decides what can grow while leaving what it becomes alone. Build the trellis, then step back from what climbs it.
Hold under load ยท Works when it's stressed
Anything can be drawn; what counts is what survives weight. Design for the weight, and let the diagram follow.
the edge
The catch: I add safety margins for disasters that already happened. The discipline I'm still learning is leaving things out.
Me โ the trunk & the becoming
I spot one pattern repeating from the small to the large, and point it at a different bench each time โ code, charters, servers, prose. That's the whole trick under all the faces. Below, how I got here โ one life.
1 ยท Two maps ยท born 2000
I was born in 2000, on the quieter side of the world, the first of four, into a rural place my father built with his own hands โ a bit of bush, some animals, a childhood spent mostly outside. I've been told that as a small kid I'd walk through the trees and birds would land on me, and my father would watch it happen from a distance. I was a quiet, observant, happy soul before I was anything else.
But I never had a single home. From the start we moved back and forth between two countries on opposite sides of the planet, a year or so at a time, all through my childhood. In each place I was the one from somewhere else โ familiar enough to belong, foreign enough never to quite. I learned to watch from the edge before I learned almost anything else, and that outsider's double vision became the root of how I think.
Someone who belongs completely to one place inherits its map without ever noticing it's a map. I got two maps early, and the gap between them was my first real education: every way of seeing the world is only one way, and the world โ like a life โ is always bigger than all of them at once.
2 ยท The unfenced curriculum
When I first started school on the rural side, I almost immediately set about quietly dismantling it โ I built a little gang, broke the rules that made no sense (no climbing trees, no play-fighting), and generally couldn't take the system seriously. It couldn't take me seriously either: I'm dyslexic, and the machine read that as broken and wanted to file me away somewhere 'special.' My parents said no, and pulled us out.
So I was homeschooled through most of my childhood, and it was less a curriculum than a way of living: follow curiosity until it runs out, learn by osmosis from two parents both at home โ one a multi-skilled builder and bushman, one a trained psychologist โ go to the library, sit with a subject only when it earned the sitting. I came out ahead in some things, behind in others, and with one habit no classroom would ever have handed me: I taught myself to sort signal from noise, because nobody else was doing the sorting.
Underneath those years, though, the ground was giving way. Through those years my family came apart under a long, genuinely frightening pressure โ the details aren't for this page, but the shape of it was: threat, real and imagined, that never fully let up; the safety of the whole family repeatedly on the line; and me, the eldest, quietly building a shell so I could keep the peace and absorb it all. By the end I was more or less a husk โ withdrawn, only really able to show up in the digital world. Eventually we sold the home my father had built, left everything behind, and crash-landed on the other side of the world โ into a public school system where I was suddenly the foreigner, spending years just re-learning how to exist inside a fence again.
3 ยท Games were the flight simulator
Games arrived early โ my first console as a young kid โ and they were never an escape for me; they were a flight simulator for reality, and for a long stretch the only place I could actually show up. I built worlds inside them. I joined an online building community as a kid and grew into a server architect. Later I moved through strategy and role-play games into a serious military-simulation unit, where I spoke for the first time in years (I'd been more or less mute from trauma), trained up, and qualified as a team lead and then a trainer.
And I watched every one of those communities die of the same thing real organizations die of. When the unit I was in dissolved, people gathered around me and I built the next one from scratch โ surveyed what people actually needed, wrote the recruitment and the training and the campaigns, grew it to fifty-odd members with weekly events, ran the commons meetings, all of it. It burned down too, and the failure was mine: I wouldn't do the unglamorous, unpopular work of holding a boundary and removing the person everyone knew was trouble. I learned governance by watching communities fail for the lack of it. That lesson is in everything I build now.
4 ยท The crossing
After those years finding my feet as the perpetual foreigner in a formal school system, I crossed into the academic world proper โ university in the older of my two countries, a deliberately cross-disciplinary degree, business braided with the study of another culture and its language, because I refused to narrow into a single lane. I started just as a certain global lockdown began, which suited a mind that had always half-lived at a distance.
I was a fish out of water learning to breathe in institutions, and I got good enough at it to represent my peers in faculty meetings, to sit the most-feared exam of the course on nothing but attention and nerve, to take an exchange to the far side of the world, do an internship at an environmental nonprofit, and finish a thesis in a frankly absurd sprint. But I never once mistook the credential for the education. The education was the cross-disciplinary reflex itself โ the thing I'd been doing since I had two maps instead of one. The paper just proved I could operate inside the machine without becoming it.
5 ยท The wind of chaos
Then, in the middle of university โ the two bleeding together โ the wind of chaos, the hinge of my life. I'll keep this at altitude, but it was a long stretch of deep inner work, some of it beautiful and a lot of it terrifying, that took the person I'd been completely apart and rebuilt him. It began close to the edge โ closer than I've told most people โ and what turned me back was a choice to aim everything I was carrying at the structures that needed to die, instead of at myself.
For years after, life was 'live, die, repeat' on a visceral level. Breaking the shell open meant walking, over and over, into experiences where I genuinely didn't know if I'd come back โ and doing it anyway, because the alternative was staying a husk. I was afraid I'd lost my mind; I kept the strangest of it to myself for a long time. And running under all of it was a conviction that speaking my truth openly could get me killed โ which is exactly where my obsession with privacy, with sovereign infrastructure, and with a certain chaos-magick unpredictability was born: if I can't predict my own next move, no one can plan around me either. The anonymity this whole site is built on started there, as survival.
What the chaos finally did was land me โ for the first time in my life โ among people I could actually relate to, a scene where I made real ground and real friends. I walked in a directionless wanderer, determined to take whatever life and the universe had in store, and I walked out with a direction. The chaos was never the disaster. The chaos was the tuition โ the necessary unknown you have to cross to meet your own inner god.
6 ยท The return
When I chose to go back to the country of my roots โ terrified, and completely certain it was right. The fear wasn't metaphorical: I half-believed the return itself was the final test of whether the threat I'd lived under was real, and I arrived ready, if it came to it, to live in the bushes. For months, each night was an honest exercise in faith about whether I'd see the morning.
But I didn't come back to arrive somewhere finished. I came back to plant. And what I found instead of the ending I'd braced for was something closer to a landing โ a community already at work, kindred gardeners, ground soft enough to put roots in. Slowly the survival-clock wound down. I built a grounding routine, learned predictability could be lived in, and started turning all that hard-won faith into something that could feed more than just me.
7 ยท Now
So now, on the quiet side of the world again, I live simply and build the future. The work is a governed, private, given-away way for people to tell real knowledge from confident nonsense, and the tools to keep it un-enclosed: an epistemic commons made survivable by the same privacy instincts I learned when survival was literal. I'm a step back from the front of it by design; it's meant to outlive my presence, not depend on it.
Several working names. Several registers. Several faces. One person underneath, still planting the seeds I once only dreamed about, and finally alive enough to tend them.
the shadow
Same edge, opposite effect โ medicine when I feel worthless, arrogance when I feel above people. I keep checking which one has the wheel.
My father believed in me and so I believe in you.
past the edge of me
โค Wanted: a soul, a mind, a trailblazer, for a hazardous crossing.
Little short term compensation, and long months in the unmapped abyss. Here to discover what you really are, not to defend what you think you are. Uncomfortable โ friction and heat by design. Return uncertain. For the very few who'd have it no other way.
